Can vegans eat cotton candy?

The main ingredient in cotton candy is sugar and there's a wide variety of sugars that can be used. Unless the product is certified vegan, it's best to contact the manufacturer to confirm.

Why is cotton candy fluffy?

​Cotton candy is made through heating up sugar and spinning it into very fine sugar threads. This process allows air to mix between the threads to create a delightful treat.

Does cotton candy have a lot of sugar?

One serving of cotton candy contains only about 30 grams of sugar.

Why does cotton candy melt?

Cotton candy is made of sugar and sugar easily absorbs the water vapors in the air. It's important to keep your cotton candy in an air tight container or eat it within 20 - 25 minutes of being spun for the very best texture.

Can you put Jolly Ranchers in a cotton candy machine?

While you technically can spin cotton candy from hard candies like Jolly Ranchers, Sweet Spinners doesn't recommend it. Even crushing the candies up, they don't spin as nicely or as fluffy as a fine grain sugar.

Should I use water to clean my cotton candy machine?

Yes! Hot water melts sugar. This is going to be your best chemical-free option for keeping your machine clean.
